Michael Jakcson purchased Neverland Ranch in March 1988 from entrepreneur William Bone.

Neverland Valley Ranch was previously called Sycamore Valley Ranch before Michael purchased the property

Michael named the property Neverland after the fantasy island in the  film 'Peter Pan'.

Neverland is approximately 2,700 acres

Michael bought the property for a reported figure just shy of $20million dollars and went on to spend another $35 million dollars renovating the entire grounds.

Michael had at one stage a reported 150 employees working at Neverland and was costing a staggering $10million a year to maintain.

 Paul Macartney and his then wife Linda rented the property before Michael owned it. He rented it while Michael and him were filming the video for the song 'Say say say' which was filmed near by in Santa Ynez.

The property is currently owned by Sycamore Valley Ranch Company LLC a company which Michael had a stake in

Elizabeth Taylor married her eighth husband 'Larry Fortenski' at the property
